世足會外賽 Caltex Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak started for Aston Villa and netted a first-half goal as his side were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Sheffield United. 

In a frenetic opening, Villa netted twice in the first 10 minutes to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Albert Adomah netted from the spot in the fourth minute before Jedinak buried a clinical header from a free kick less than five minutes later.

United pulled a goal back in the 12th minute through Clayton Donaldson before a horror error from Jedinak gifted the visitors an equaliser just before the half-hour mark.

Playing in the centre of defence, Jedinak failed to control a loose ball which allowed Donaldson to race through on goal and make it 2-2.

The game petered out somewhat in the second half as both sides were forced to settle for a point.

The draw leaves Villa in sixth spot on the Championship table.
